Helen Westhrop

Since I graduated as textile artist, I have become a stop motion animator, costumer designer, filmmaker, storyteller, and illustrator. Drawing on skills learned as a child and developed and refined more recently, I have added fabric, colour and texture along with some literary techniques, poetic licence and much theatre.

Each work from the initial sketch to the finished book or film becomes an animated snapshot of an oft forgotten moment. Out of a world of general historical hardship, neglect, and poverty, and making critical observations, a work of fantasy blossoms.
