My practice is concerned with an artist’s creative process. Through the use of the traditional basketry techniques of looping, braiding and twining I analyse my own creative process to explore concepts linked to transitional space, containment and displacement. I work with a variety of plants which I can grow, harvest and forage: daffodils, iris, grasses, rush and willow. My work emphasises the raw materials used and the slowness of the making. My pieces gradually relax and settle finding their own point of balance. They act as markers which indicate when changes occur in my creative process.
