Jennifer Sutton

I am a textile artist who specialises in knitted artworks, based in Hampshire. I use a manual standard gauge domestic knitting machine to produce sculptural fabrics and objects.  I am inspired by the process of knitting on the machine and develop pieces which are a progression on my previous work. I capture moments and instances of inspiration through the photographs I take.  I prefer to be inspired organically, so I take photographs as the moments arise, and then allow these to permeate my work subconsciously. I tend to start knitting and allow the photographs to reemerge within my work.
